Thanks greenone!

Just for future reference though, could I have avoided this problem if I had not submitted the metadata and instead went straight to item manager after uploading the files and then added/replaced/deleted the necessary md5 files? And then, go back and fill out the metadata and submit?

I don't think so. If you go into the item manager from the metadata editor (the blue screen), there's no way for you to get to the item editor (which is where you'd be physically changing the files). I think metadata has to be submitted before you can click "Edit item" and get the choice to change information or change files, so you'd sealed your fate, so to speak, the minute you uploaded that old md5.

Actually, you can get to the upload/download manager page from any LMA page, whether or not it's been checked in yet. Go to your contribution center if you need to, and copy the URL of the item details page. Then change the URL from where it says "details" (no quotes) to "edit" (also no quotes, all lowercase.) You'll then be able to choose from

- I want to change the information (metadata) about my item.
or
- I want to change the files in my item.

Hope that helps. This will let you fix an MD5 or use a more current version of the info.txt file, for instance, before starting the derive sequence.
